I don’t really enjoy cooking but I know I need to learn how to cook.
I have been receiving one on one weekly support from Dundaloo to learn to cook lots of different meals and now I able to cook for my family once a week. I am gaining confidence.
I decided that to make cooking more enjoyable I would invite a few friends over and have a dinner party. I decided I would cook spaghetti bolognaise and make a strawberry mousse dessert.
With the support, I did a practise cook for my family, so I could make sure it would be perfect for my friends. Mum and Dad told me that it was delicious and were very happy with the meal.
I chose a date for my dinner party and purchased invitations and with support from the Dundaloo worker I filled them out and then delivered them to my friends. I invited Ellie, Peter and Phoebe.
Mum and Dad thought the dinner party was a great idea and they went out that night so I could entertain my friends. On the night of the dinner party, Lindy came along just in case I need support with anything.
My friends told me I was a wonderful hostess and they really enjoyed our night together. Now my friends want to take turns in hosting dinner parties, so I am happy that my friends had such a good time that they want to do it as well.
